I'm an avid outdoors enthusiast despite a minor lack of coordination (hey, bruises are badges of honor). I am also an eternal softie when it comes to critters who need homes, and have therefore resigned myself to never owning really nice furniture. I have waaaay too many interests and passions to be able to dedicate myself fully to any of them, and devote myself to each in turn as time permits. I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, and fairly catholic taste in reading material. I am bored unless I have at least 6 books going at once. My long-suffering husband says I have the attention span of a flea. He might be right about that!
Simon, a.k.a. "Slimy". Mischievous, spastic, neurotic, stubborn, scaredy-cat Basset hound. Rescued from the local Humane Association. Dumber than a box of rocks but impossible not to adore. Has a memory span about as long as Dory's in "Finding Nemo". Loves romping with Phoebe and Pippin and believes he's a 50 lb lap dog.
Phoebe, a.k.a. "Gazelle", "Fee-Bean", "Miss Enthusiasm", or "Little Wrinkle". Our newest addition and still a puppy. A Heintz 57 Shelter Special with an over-abundance of energy and an inability to hold her licker. Incredibly sweet, and incredibly bad. Takes the prize for "most spoiled rotten pet".
Pippin, a.k.a. "Fluffykins" or "Fluffernutter". Side-kick to Simon, torturer of all other creatures in the house. Spends most of his time stalking Rocky. A stray who waltzed in one day and stayed. Holds a sincere conviction that the universe exists solely for his entertainment.
Tucker, a.k.a. "Wuckles". Grouchy old man cat - don't mess with his routine. Hates Pippin with a violent passion. Loves to "scarf" people while they sleep and drool down their necks. Rescued many years ago from a dumpster as a kitten.
Wednesday, a.k.a. "Wee" or "Weenie". Teeniest member of the household. Retains an eternally kittenish disposition. Always happy, playful, and adorable. Acquired when an acquaintance took in a stray mama cat who had kittens.
Sneakers, a.k.a. "Sneakerpants" or "Squeakers". Yowliest cat ever to walk the earth. The Police Constable who monitors and keeps all the other pets in line. Extremely sweet, but slightly off and none-too-bright. Contestant for the feline Darwin Awards. Adopted from a local shelter.
Rocky, a.k.a. the "Attic Ghoul" or "Rocky Road". A rescued, burly, battle-scarred street fighter who spent his first months of life with us hiding in the attic. Has since become a fat little buddha with a wicked streak of mischief. Believes Pippin is a chew toy. The most affectionate cat I have ever known, almost to the point of being embarrassingly demonstrative.

That first picture is frameable. Years from now you will look at it and remember the lazy, peaceful feeling of that moment.
Adorable! Just like children do, don't they look like little angels when they're asleep?
oh, heaven. you take some of the best shots of pets I've ever seen. I didn't even see the kitty in my first viewing of the first shot. delightful! =)
