Life Without Internet
>> Friday, September 2, 2011
Apologies for the lack of posting. We have been without Internet at home now for 3 1/2 weeks. At first, Verizon was on strike, so that was their excuse for not being able to get someone to address the problem. Then, no one showed up on our scheduled service date because someone forgot to ever generate a service ticket. Allegedly. Now, they STILL can't seem to get anyone over, with Irene as the explanation. Except CNY didn't have any real damage from Irene. Heaven Only Knows when the problem will be resolved. I am out of patience, but really, the alternatives to Verizon aren't exactly an improvement.
So, we wait. While I stockpile photos for blog posts. Hopefully I will have time to do a flurry of posts once we get Internet back and I have a way to get photos online!

WW: I can relate and sympathize. My patience with utilities isn't very long on a good day.
Glad to hear you're ok, though. Looking forward to the next time you can post.
Yeh, it's been rough up your way! 'Sure can sympathize! Hang in there!
Sadly, this lack of Internet has nothing to do with weather, storms, Irene, or anything of the sort. We just woke up one morning without it.
I wish we could get compensated for all the hours spent on the phone, arguing, cajoling, complaining, and begging for someone, ANYONE, at Verizon to look into our lack of Internet. I have been told we might get service today. I shall believe it when I see it!
