Midway Lights

I had a tremendous amount of fun photographing the New York State Fair midway at night. Some of the photos I took weren't great, but I also got some that I think are absolutely fantastic. I sort of went into artistic overload trying to capture the colors, the mood, and the motion of a Fair Midway after dark.
The whole experience left me adoring my Nikon D90 and the 18-200 VR lens. They performed extraordinarily well, with the vibration reduction allowing me to hold shots with fairly slow shutter speeds so I could capture some of the motion. Because, let's face it, setting up a tripod in the middle of the busy midway isn't a great idea, unless the photographer wants to get mowed down by packs of kids and half-drunk adults.
I don't really think these shots need commentary - they speak for themselves.

Wow! You have really caught the essence of the Fair Midway in these shots. They are beautiful, but, more than that, they are evocative.
